GUAMUN 2026: Student-Led Model United Nations Conference

Dear ASFG Community,

GUAMUN (Guadalajara Model United Nations) is an annual conference organized and led by High School Model United Nations students, who take on an active role in planning the conference, developing committee topics, and facilitating dialogue around pressing global challenges.

The conference brings together delegates from ASFG middle school and high school, along with guest students from other ASOMEX and local schools, creating a diverse and collaborative learning environment. With the guidance and support of teacher leaders Michael Johnson and Nathan Tilkes, students research global challenges, negotiate solutions, and participate in structured debate, gaining a deeper understanding of international relations and global citizenship. GUAMUN also serves as a platform for raising awareness about real-world issues and encourages students to think critically about their role in an increasingly interconnected world, while reflecting ASFG’s learning goals by fostering purposeful learners, critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, and community contributors.

As part of GUAMUN 2026, we are honored to welcome Óscar Gómez Bañuelos as our Guest Speaker. Drawing from his experience with Doctors Without Borders, he will offer firsthand insight into humanitarian work, global health challenges, and the realities of working in crisis contexts. This talk is open to all members of the ASFG community, and we would be delighted to see you there.
